1985 Westerly Merlin
The Westerly Merlin is a fast, comfortable cruiser and was the first Westerly designed with an aft double berth quarter cabin. Strongly built to Lloyds standards with spacious accommodation and good sailing performance, the Merlin makes an ideal family cruiser, her bilge keels are well suited to the shoal waters of the East Coast and near Continent.
A well maintained example that has been regularly updated and has been in the same ownership for nearly twenty years.

The accommodation offers up to seven berths in three cabins with good headroom throughout.
Steps leading down to saloon with L shaped galley to port, stainless steel sink with Filtered cold water supply, Flavel Vanessa two burner gas hob with grill and oven, cool box with Isotherm ASU 3200/3700 refrigeration system and plenty of storage. Chart table opposite to starboard side with locker beside. Settee berths to both sides with storage beneath, port converts to a double with good storage outboard. Drop leaf table to centre. Heads compartment with Jabsco marine toilet and moulded basin with hot and cold water supply. Double aft cabin to port with 2 x Lewmar opening ports, hanging locker and double panel radiator. Forward cabin with V berth and in-fill creating a double berth, stowage above and below and opening hatch to foredeck. Eberspacher diesel fired warm air cabin heating. Cabin lighting (mostly LED).
Located abaft the companionway, Bukh DV20ME 20hp three cylinder diesel engine, fresh water cooled via heat exchanger. Shaft driven to fixed three bladed propeller. 82 litre fuel tank. Approximate cruising speed 5/6 knots. Improved engine soundproofing and fire retarding board fitted 2019.

Built by Westerly Yachts in 1985 to a design by Ed Dubois. White GRP hull with dark blue style band. White GRP decks with moulded non skid to decks. Teak rubbing strake and hand drails. Cast iron twin bilge keels. Tiller steering to transom hung rudder. Self draining cockpit, anchor locker and gas locker. Hull spray blasted and iron keels epoxied in 2006
