The Hillyard 13 Ton Ketch is a charismatic, traditional cruising yacht, designed and built by David Hillyard in 1977 and powered by a Perkins Sabre M65 65hp diesel.

Lucy Maud has been well maintained and has a good cruising inventory. Her current owners have made numerous upgrades and improvements including refurbished heads compartment, new galley, fridge, plumbing, rewire, solar panels, Houdini hatch to aft cabin and much more.  The boat was lifted and antifouled in May 2024 and the engine recently serviced.

Accommodation

The accommodation offers up to five berths in two cabins with good headroom throughout.

Access  to centre cockpit/wheelhouse via canopy from port or starboard side. Helm to port with L shaped seating area and bench seat to starboard side.

Steps leading down and forward to bright and airy saloon area with opening and fixed port lights all around, navigation area to starboard side with galley opposite to port comprising stainless steel sink with hot and cold pressurised mixer tap, Plastimo Neptune 4500 two burner hob with oven and grill, plentiful storage above and below. Settee berths to both sides with storage above and below and fixed, drop leaf table to centre. Fridge (recently replaced) to starboard side and locker to port. Forepeak with large shelved area to port and settee berth with front opening storage beneath to starboard side.

Steps leading down from cockpit to aft cabin, refurbished heads to port with Jabsco marine toilet, pull out sink with hot and cold mixer tap and opening portlight. Two single berths (now converted to a double) with escape hatch above.

Eberspacher diesel fired warm air heating.

Mechanical Systems

Located beneath the cockpit sole, Perkins Sabre M65 diesel inboard engine (2001) Serviced in 2022.  Shaft drive to feathering two blade propeller. Single lever engine control. Electric start. Cruising speed approx. 6 knots. Maximum speed approx. 7 knots. Fuel tank capacity 75 gallons.
